Based on ethnographic field research for her Master thesis in 2018, in this essay, Teresa has bundled some ideas on the water crisis in Cape Town. She points out that the dominant water crisis narrative lays bare inequities deeply rooted in the city and refers to dynamics that challenge the status quo of crisis production. Those thoughts might be of specific interest regarding the current pervasive crisis-talks since certain parallels can be drawn.
